American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position in a Level II trauma center in Louisiana. The role requires 2+ years of ER experience and current RN licensure (compact or LA) in hand at submission.

Responsibilities include serving a combined adult/pediatric ED, 3x12 night shifts, and a 13-week assignment with no required on-call. Travel experience preferred; housing and licensure support offered.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and a compact or LA RN license in hand.

Requirements

• Active RN license, Compact or LA license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, CPI
• Preferred certifications: NRP, TNCC
• 2 years of ER specialty experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Skilled in pediatric and adult emergency care including trauma, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric presentations
• Experience with IV therapy, emergency medications, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Up-to-date NURSYS report required (within 4 weeks of submission)

Responsibilities

• Level II Trauma Center emergency department serving combined adult/pediatric population
• Average daily census of 40 with 26 rooms
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-07:15)
• 13-week assignment
• No call-in requirement
• Epic EMR experience required
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team during facility emergency events, requiring extended on-site presence or relief team participation
• Candidates must be willing to work 2 of 4 designated holiday periods annually (Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
• Orientation held 5 days a week
• Two Manager/Supervisor references required prior to start (Charge RN references not accepted)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• Former Ochsner Health permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
• All RTO must be disclosed on profile and discussed during interview to avoid offer rescission
