Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CA RN license for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department at a teaching and community hospital setting, with STEMI and Stroke certification, patient ratio 1:4, night schedule 1900-0730, 13-week assignment.

Qualifications

  • Active CA RN license required.
  • Current BLS (AHA), ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required.
  • TNCC certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required.
  • Prior travel nursing experience required.
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred.
  • 7-year work history verification required, including documentation or contacts if needed.
  • 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required.
  • Must complete labs within 3-5 days of contract signing.

  • Provide comprehensive ED nursing care including patient assessment and procedures.
  • Demonstrate strong understanding of evidence-based practice and pathophysiology.
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition and act as a patient advocate.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a care team.

Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN with a CA RN license for a night shift position requiring at least 2 years of ED experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details
  • Work in a combined adult/pediatric Emergency Department at a teaching and community hospital setting
  • Facility is STEMI and Stroke certified, handling shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730
  • No on-call requirement
  • Broad clinical exposure including pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, IV therapy, respiratory care, neurological trauma, and cardiac monitoring

  • Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required

Additional Information

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of evidence-based practice, pathophysiology, and pharmacological principles
  • Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, acting as a patient advocate
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a care team
  • Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, and orthopedic splinting
  • Max RTO of 7 days per contract
  • Only 1 holiday request approved per contract, covering New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
  • Returning staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation before reapplying
  • Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius
  • First-time travelers are not eligible due to required prior travel experience
