American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ER experience and charge nurse experience.

The assignment runs 13 weeks, nights 4x12 hour shifts (19:00-7:30), with a 1:4-5 patient ratio and the chance to work at a premier trauma facility in Albuquerque, NM. Epic charting experience preferred; travel compensation includes housing, meals, and stipends.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license; NM state license or compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start).
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; CPI, NIHSS, NRP/ENPC, STABLE, and TNCC preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience; community hospital experience required.

Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center requiring 2 years of ER experience and charge nurse experience.

Details
  • Level II Trauma Center Emergency Department, also a Pediatric Emergency Department, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified facility
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts, 19:00-7:30, with 36 or 48 hour options
  • 13-week assignment
  • Epic charting system preferred
  • Floating to like units within scope required as needed based on facility needs
Requirements
  • Active RN license, NM state license or compact license accepted (must be obtained prior to start)
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; CPI, NIHSS, NRP/ENPC, STABLE, and TNCC certifications preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, and central line care/management
  • Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
  • Experience with cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with CVA and shock/trauma patient care, including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
  • Pediatric emergency experience including head injury and near drowning cases preferred
  • Neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury experience preferred
  • OB emergency delivery and neonatal emergency skills preferred
  • Proficiency in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency care across a broad range of trauma, cardiac, neurological, respiratory, and pediatric cases
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the position
  • Former staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • First-time travelers considered only with 2-3 years of Progressive/Acute ER experience
  • Brief unit orientation provided when floating to other units
