Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department role in New Jersey. NJ or compact RN license required, with at least 1 year of ED or critical care/cardiac experience. BLS and ACLS are required; PALS for pediatric ER assignments.

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Responsibilities include working in a hospital ED, 12-hour AM shifts (11a–11p), 36 hours per week, charting with Epic, floating to a sister hospital as

Qualifications

  • Active NJ or compact RN license required.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required.
  • PALS certification required for pediatric ER assignments.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in Critical Care, Cardiac, or Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital Emergency Department setting.
  • AM shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (11a-11p).
  • 36 hours per week.
  • Uses Epic for charting.
  • Float to sister hospital as needed.
  • No on-call responsibilities.
  • Perform systematic, comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric.
  • Deliver direct patient care using emergency equipment and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care and patient progress.
  • Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and use of two patient identifiers.
  • Promote a patient- and family-centered care environment while maintaining HIPAA confidentiality.
  • Assume responsibility for prioritizing patient care based on condition and needs.
  • Local candidates accepted.
  • Travelers may stay on assignment up to one calendar year from the initial start date before requiring a break.
