Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an ER RN for a 13-week night shift assignment in New Jersey. Requires ACLS, BLS, PALS and active NJ or compact RN license. Three 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, weekends required; travelers outside 50-mile radius only.

Qualifications

  • Active NJ or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration.
  • ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required.
  • 3-5 years ER nursing experience preferred.
  • Proficient in IV therapy, arterial lines, central lines, and IV sedation.
  • EPIC charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Treat general Emergency Department patients (adult and pediatric).
  • Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts weekly (19:00-07:30).
  • Weekend shifts required.
  • Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management.
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this unit.
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius; locals not accepted.
  • Former staff must wait one year before returning as traveler.
  • No more than 3 days of RTO; no RTO during orientation first week.
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted.

Job description

Requirements
  • Active NJ or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
  • 3-5 years of ER nursing experience preferred
  • Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, starting and maintaining IVs, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
  • EPIC charting experience preferred
Responsibilities
  • General Emergency Department treating combined adult and pediatric patients
  • Night shift schedule, three 12-hour shifts weekly (19:00-7:30)
  • Weekend shifts required
  • Cardiac monitoring and emergency response duties including dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • First-time travelers are accepted for this unit
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Former staff must wait one year after separation before returning as a traveler
  • No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
