Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN for an evening shift contract in Illinois. Eligible candidates must have at least 2 years of ER experience and active IL RN licensure, plus BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NIHSS certifications.

Epic EMR experience is required and applicants should provide two current references, including at least one travel reference. The assignment features 12-hour shifts (3:00pm–3:00am), weekend rotations, and holiday coverage; local candidates are

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years ER experience; 4+ preferred.
• New graduates will not be considered.
• Epic EMR experience must be noted in employment history.
• Two current professional references from a Supervisor/Manager/Charge within the last year.
• At least one travel reference preferred.
• Copies of certifications and license verification required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Room department of a hospital setting.
• 12-hour evening shifts from 3:00pm-3:00am.
• Rotating weekend requirements.
• Holiday coverage per department scheduling; minimum of 3 shifts between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
• No floating or on-call requirements.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide emergency department nursing care across a variety of patient cases.
• Must complete an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration.
• On Day 1 of orientation, must pass an onsite EKG test to continue the assignment; a study guide will be provided.
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate.
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have been away from the facility for 12 months to be eligible as travel candidate.
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for this 8-week contract.
• A brief interview (10-15 minutes) with the hospital is required as part of the hiring process.
