Responsibilities

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Room position requiring IL licensure and a minimum of 2 years ER experience.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC or TNS
• Minimum 2+ years of ER experience required, 4+ years preferred
• New graduates not accepted
• Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history
• Must pass an EKG test with a score of 80% or higher prior to consideration
• Resume, 2 current supervisory references within the last year, skills checklist, and copies of certifications and license verification required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Hospital-based Emergency Room setting
• Full-time schedule with 12-hour day shifts
• All weekends required (Sat/Sun), with some flexibility on the third day
• Some holiday commitment required
• No floating or on-call requirements
• Uses Epic EMR
• Provide direct patient care within a high-acuity Emergency Room environment
• Participate in a brief facility interview (10-15 minutes) as part of the hiring process
• Complete a 2-day paid orientation including an Epic test-out session and floor orientation
• Pass an on-site EKG test (pass/fail) on Day 1 of orientation to continue the assignment
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must be separated from the facility for at least 12 months to be eligible as a traveler
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for 8-week contracts and 7 days for 13-week contracts
