Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Emergency Room RN for a night shift contract in Illinois. The ideal candidate has travel nursing experience and Epic EMR proficiency to manage high-acuity emergencies in a hospital setting.

Contract involves 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 scheduled hours per week, with every 3rd weekend and some holidays. Local candidates within a 50-mile radius are eligible; new graduates are not considered.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• BLS certification must be from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Minimum 2 years of ER experience required, 5+ years preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required with at least 1 completed travel assignment
• Epic EMR experience required
• New graduates will not be considered

Responsibilities

• Emergency Room setting within a hospital
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• 36 scheduled hours per week
• Every 3rd weekend required (Friday/Saturday night shifts)
• Holiday coverage required (1-2 holidays during contract)
• No floating or on-call requirements
• Provide emergency department nursing care in a fast-paced hospital setting
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Returning permanent or per diem staff must have a 12-month break before being eligible as a travel candidate
• RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for 8-week contracts or 7 days for 13-week contracts
• Facility conducts a brief interview (10-15 minutes) prior to placement
