Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is hiring an experienced ER RN for a fast-paced Emergency Department assignment in Massachusetts. The position requires an active MA RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and a minimum of 18 months ER experience, plus 2 years total RN experience.

The role features a 26-week union assignment with night shifts and 4x12-hour days, and uses Epic charting. The traveler must reside within 200 miles of the facility or be local; references from Nurse Managers are preferred.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required in hand.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Minimum 18 months of ER experience required.
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience total.
• Community hospital experience required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Experience with pediatric and adult ER care including triage, splinting, isolation precautions.
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and management of cardiac dysrhythmias.
• Experience with psychiatric emergencies including suicidal and violent patients.
• Respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP and ventilated patients.
• Emergency medications administration and procedural sedation.
• Two professional references from a Nurse Manager or higher.

Responsibilities

• Treat a combined adult and pediatric Emergency Department population.
• Night shift 4x12 hours, 6:45 PM-7:15 AM, every other weekend.
• 26-week assignment in a union hospital setting with no special scheduling accommodations.
• Must be able to work all 7 days per union requirements.
• Use the Epic charting system.
• Provide emergency nursing care across trauma, cardiac, respiratory, psychiatric, and pediatric cases.
• Pass/fail telemetry test at orientation with 80% and one attempt allowed.
• Pass/fail medication exam at orientation.
• Residents within a 200-mile radius of the facility; local candidates accepted at same bill rate.
• Returning staff must have 12-month separation from health system.
• Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted; no RTO in first week.
• One of the three major holidays may be requested off; other two may require coverage.
• First-time travelers are not considered for this position.
