Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for an ED/MedSurg Swing unit in a high-demand North Dakota facility. An active ND license and BLS/ACLS are required, with at least 1 year MedSurg and 2 years RN experience; must be able to titrate drips and work 12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Acute care hospital setting on a 22-bed ED/MedSurg Swing unit.
• Patient ratios: 1:4 for acute, 1:6 swing bed, 1:4 in ED.
• RNs titrate drips, with normal and set rates.
• Unit has telemetry; RNs read strips.
• Use Epic for charting.
• 12-hour day/night shifts: 7a–7p and 7p–7a.
• Every other weekend and every other holiday.
• Flex time on-call/standby.
• First to float among staff, with potential charge nurse duties.
• Respiratory equipment includes nebulizers, O2 delivery, ventilators used in ED and transport.
• Charge nurse support on unit.
• Provide direct patient care across ED and swing bed populations.
• Scrub color and dress code flexible.
• Must reside at least 50 miles from facility.
• Candidates with prior permanent or PRN work at this facility in last 12 months will not be considered.
• Unit-specific orientation provided.

• Accepts a variety of common diagnoses and patient types
• RNs are required to titrate drips, including normal rate and set rate drips
• Unit has telemetry monitoring with RNs reading their own strips
• Uses Epic as the charting system
• 12-hour day and night shifts, scheduled 7a-7p and 7p-7a
• Every other weekend and every other holiday requirement
• Flex time on-call/standby requirement
• First to float among staff, with floating to ED holds and possible charge nurse duties
• Respiratory equipment used includes nebulizers, O2 nasal cannula and mask, with ventilators used in the ED and during transport
• Charge nurse support available on the unit
• Provide direct patient care across combined ED and MedSurg swing bed populations
• Scrub color and dress code is flexible, any color accepted
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates who have worked permanent or PRN positions at this facility within the last 12 months will not be considered
