Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position in Washington state. The role requires a WA or compact RN license and 2+ years of ED experience, with TNCC/ACLS/BLS/NIHSS/PALS certifications.

The position features a night shift (6:00pm–6:30am) with every-other-weekend and holiday coverage, Epic EMR usage, and potential cross-facility floating within the region. Strong lab and IV skills are required.

Qualifications

• Active WA state or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of RN ED experience
• Certifications: TNCC, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• NRP certification required for staff but not for travelers
• Active certifications required at time of consideration
• Lab draws and IV insertion skills
• Driver's license copy required
• Two professional references (last 12 months supervisor, last 3 years peer) with dates and rehire eligibility

Responsibilities

• Acute care ED with fast track area
• 27 beds/trauma bays including fast track
• Patient volume 84-118 per day across all ages
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratio 4:1
• Night shift 6:00pm–6:30am
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage unless time off requested
• Uses Epic EMR
• ED Techs support unit; no nurse aides or paramedics
• 1:1 security/patient sitters as needed
• RNs perform labs with lab backup; ED IV Team
• Respiratory Therapy covers ventilator management
• RT and pharmacy coverage 24/7
• ED MDs only; no mid-levels noted
• Charge nurse role for experienced RNs
• Orientation to facility; possible float to two additional facilities
• Floating may bring extra compensation
• First-time travelers may be considered

• Floating may be required within the regional facility network, with additional compensation offered for shifts worked outside the primary facility
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
