American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Emergency Department travel assignment in Texas. Must hold a TX or compact RN license with at least 3 years ED experience (2 years if candidate has high-volume/trauma background). Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC and NIHSS.

The role is in a Level II Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke certification. Work is 4x12s on a day shift with varied weeks, and candidates must be outside a 50-mile radius of the facility.

• 3 years of ED experience required; 2 years accepted with high-volume/trauma background.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.

Responsabilités

• Work in a General Emergency Department treating combined adult/pediatric patients.
• Level II Trauma Center with STEMI and Stroke certification.
• Day shift, 4x12-hour schedule with 36/48 or 48s.
• Maintain patient ratio of 1:4 and perform triage and monitoring.
• Care for wide range of ED presentations including pediatrics and neuro-trauma.
• Complete required lab work within 72 hours or provide plan.
• Orientation modules completed within first 16 hours.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring TX or compact RN license and at least 3 years of ED experience (2 years considered for high-volume/trauma background).

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license required
• 3 years of ED experience required; 2 years accepted if candidate has high-volume or trauma facility experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, MAB
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in triage, isolation precautions/PPE, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Experience with IV therapy, starting/maintaining IVs, blood product administration, and emergency medications required
• Experience managing shock/trauma cases including gunshot wounds and traumatic amputations
• Skilled in orthopedic splinting and ortho trauma care
• License must be in-hand prior to start date

Responsibilities

• Day shift, 4x12-hour schedule with alternating 36/48 hour weeks or straight 48s
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Care for a wide range of ED presentations including pediatrics, psychiatric emergencies, neuro-trauma, and respiratory conditions
• Facility conducts its own onsite drug screen upon arrival, including marijuana testing, with automatic cancellation for positive results
• Candidates must complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting the offer or provide a completion plan
• Orientation includes training modules completed within the first 16 hours, averaging 2-3 hours
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
