Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring an Emergency Department RN for a day shift in Lewiston, ME. The position requires ME or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and at least 2 years of ED experience, with an emphasis on critical care exposure.

The role involves a 13-week assignment in a full-spectrum ED setting, potential charge nurse and preceptor duties, and travel/per diem considerations. Local candidates may receive a lower rate.

Qualifications

• Active ME or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience
• At least 2 years of ED experience
• At least 1 year of critical care nursing experience
• Candidates with hits or actions on license/background will not be accepted

Responsibilities

• Emergency Department setting offering a full spectrum of emergency care with a separate Chest Pain Center
• Day shift schedule, 7a-7p
• 13-week assignment
• May be required to work charge nurse and preceptor roles if needed
• Responsible for direct and indirect patient care through the nursing process across all areas of the unit
• Assess patients on admission and throughout their stay
• Administer IV medications, therapy, and blood products as needed
• Provide patient education and document nursing care actions, teaching, observations, and patient responses
• Previous employees of the facility are not eligible for consideration
• Local candidates are accepted at a lower rate
