Job summary

American Traveler Staffing Professionals seeks an experienced RN for a high-volume Level II trauma Emergency Department. Required certifications include TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ENPC within 90 days; 2+ years ER experience preferred.

Responsibilities include caring for patients in a 101-bed ED, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and documenting in Cerner; schedule requires evenings and every other weekend with 36 hours weekly, 13 weeks assignment.

Qualifications

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) prior to start date.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS; ENPC within 90 days.
  • Minimum 2 years RN experience, ER setting preferred.

Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-volume Level II trauma Emergency Department, requiring TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications along with 2+ years of RN experience.

Details
  • 101-bed Emergency Care Center in a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
  • Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
  • Support staff includes techs in cardiac monitoring and internal processing, triage, and unit clerks for day and night shifts
  • Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors
  • Documentation completed in Cerner
  • Scheduling requires every other weekend with no block scheduling commitments
  • No floating outside the ED, but flexibility required to float to all ED sections
Requirements
  • Active RN license (NC or Compact)
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS prior to start date
  • ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in an ER setting
  • Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits annually) preferred
  • Previous HCA experience preferred
  • Strong teamwork skills with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
  • Flexibility to work across all ED sections
Additional Information
  • Provide emergency nursing care in a high-volume, multicultural community setting serving patients speaking over 120 languages
  • Deliver patient-centered care using AIDET principles and maintain updated patient communication boards
  • Navy scrubs required as part of uniform dress code
  • Unit is recognized for strong teamwork and a welcoming team culture
  • Attendance policy provided on first day of assignment
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
