Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is hiring a Cath Lab/EP RN with 2+ years of recent Cath Lab/Interventional scrubbing experience for a 13-week day shift contract requiring on-call and weekend coverage.

The role involves working in a unit with 2 Cath Labs and 1 Hybrid OR, performing complex interventional procedures and using GE Innova IGS, Philips equipment, IVUS, and EPIC charting. Day shifts are 4x10 hours, with on-call and holiday coverage as scheduled.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (MD or Compact) required at time of consideration.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only).
• Minimum 2 years of recent Cath Lab/Interventional scrubbing experience required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, and left/right heart caths, IABP placement/removal.

Responsibilities

• Work in a unit with 2 Cath Labs and 1 Hybrid OR.
• Adult and geriatric patient population.
• Performs procedures including IABP, Rotablator, Shockwave, structural interventions, PFO closure, TAVR, MitraClip, and Watchman.
• Uses GE Innova IGS, Philips, GE MacLab, IVUS, and FFR equipment with EPIC charting.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours, 06:30-17:00, rotating days as needed Monday-Friday.
• On-call required up to 13 weekdays as needed, 5pm-6am Monday-Thursday.
• Weekend coverage required, inclusive of on-call Friday 5pm through Monday 6am.
• Holiday coverage required, inclusive of on-call as scheduled.
• Block scheduling and special scheduling requests cannot be accommodated.
• Travelers are expected to float within scope with no restrictions.
• Provide nursing care across diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab and hybrid OR settings.
• Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility are not accepted unless locals are specifically accepted at a reduced local travel rate.
• Returning staff must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler.
• Returning travelers typically must be away from the system for at least 6 months after completing an assignment.
• Most locations allow for one contract and one extension, after which a 6-month break is required before returning to the facility or unit.
• Maximum of 7 RTO days can be requested; more than 4 consecutive days requires an additional week added to the back end of new contracts.
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position.

• Knowledge of antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and thrombolytics
• Comfortable administering and monitoring procedural sedation
