Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a day shift position in Illinois. The ideal candidate will hold an active IL license and bring interventional cardiac cath lab experience to a busy 5-room unit.

Responsibilities include a 3x12 hour day schedule, weekend coverage, on-call duties, and cross-facility floating. Cerner charting and Magnet-designated facility experience are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required at time of application.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted).
• Minimum 1 year RN experience.
• Interventional Cath Lab experience required.
• Experience with diagnostic catheterizations, left/right heart caths, and circulate procedures.
• Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring experience.
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring.
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Cerner charting experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Cath Lab unit operations in an acute care hospital with a 5-room suite.
• Day shift: 3×12 hours, 0630–1900.
• Work 2–3 weekends per contract; on-call as needed.
• Floating within hospital or to nearby affiliates.
• Use Cerner EMR for charting.
• Support Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility.

• Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
• Experience with diagnostic catheterizations, left and right heart catheterizations, and circulate procedures required
• Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring required
• Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring required
• Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Cerner charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred

• Cath Lab unit in an acute care hospital with a 5-room suite and average daily census of 25
• Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 0630-1900
• Required to work 2-3 weekends per contract
• On-call required as needed
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
• Cerner EMR used for charting
• Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Must work 2 of the 3 major holidays
• RTO ideally no more than 5 days, with up to 5 non-holiday days auto-approved
• Previous permanent or PRN employees of the facility must be separated for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Floating is required of all travelers, including to affiliate facilities near the hospital
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
