American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN with a minimum of 1 year cardiac cath lab experience and an active IL RN license.

Responsibilities include work across Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, EP Lab, Hybrid OR, and Pre/Post procedure settings with a 4x10 day shift. On-call and weekend coverage required; Cerner charting used.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required at time of application.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in cardiac cath lab.
• Experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and Pre/Post Procedure settings.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, EP Lab, Hybrid OR, and Pre/Post Procedure settings.
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours (0700-1730).
• Patient ratios 1:2 days and 1:1 nights/weekends.
• On-call one night per week and every third weekend.
• Floating within hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN with a minimum of 1 year cardiac cath lab experience and an active IL RN license.

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required at time of application
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience required
• Experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab and Pre/Post Procedure settings required
• Skills required in cath lab procedures including PCI, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, and vascular closure systems
• Experience with EP procedures such as arrhythmia induction, conduction studies, and LAA closure required
• Experience with vascular studies including angioplasty, carotid stenting, and stent graft placement required
• Knowledge of antiarrhythmic, antihypertensive, and emergency medications, including IV vasopressors and thrombolytics required
• Proficiency in 12-lead EKG, ACT monitoring, cardioversion, and sheath removal/monitoring required
• Experience starting and maintaining IVs and assisting with central line insertion required
• Cerner charting experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab, Hybrid OR, and Pre/Post Procedure settings
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours (0700-1730)
• Patient ratios of 1:2 during days and 1:1 for nights and weekends
• Required to work every third weekend
• On-call responsibilities of one night per week and every third weekend
• Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
• Uses Cerner charting system
• Provide direct patient care in cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures, including scrub and circulate duties
• Monitor and manage procedural sedation, vascular access, and hemodynamic stability during procedures
• Scrubs are provided for this role
• Level II Trauma center with 372 staffed beds
• Holiday coverage required for 2 of 3 major holidays
• Requested time off ideally limited to 5 days or fewer
• Local candidates accepted with no radius restriction
• First-time travelers considered only with significant cath lab experience
• Previous permanent or PRN employees must have a 12-month separation from the facility before returning as a traveler
• Floating required for all travelers within the hospital or to nearby affiliate facilities
