Job summary

American Traveler, LLC is seeking an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN traveler with at least two years of specialty experience and required on-call availability, including weekends.

Applicants must hold Missouri or compact RN licensure, plus either Kansas or Missouri licensure due to floating needs, and current BLS/ACLS. EPIC experience and interventional cath lab skills are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in Missouri or compact state.
• Missouri and Kansas licenses required due to floating needs.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years of recent cath lab/EP experience.
• Previous charge nurse experience required.
• Teaching hospital experience preferred.
• Extensive cath lab procedural skills including PCI, TAVR, Watchman.
• Hemodynamic monitoring and Swan Ganz lines.
• Sedation medications administration proficiency.
• Vascular closure and sheath management.
• EKG/ECG interpretation and dysrhythmia management.
• IV therapy including central lines and PICC.
• EPIC charting experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in Cath Lab/Interventional Cardiology/Hybrid OR/EP unit.
• Average daily census of 4 procedures per lab.
• Patient ratios 1:4 days, 1:3 nights.
• Day shift 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.
• On-call required, including weekends.
• Regular floating between departments/locations as needed.
• Uses EPIC charting system.
• Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
• Circulate and scrub for cath lab and EP procedures.
• Monitor patients on procedural sedation and manage medications.
• Scrubs provided by facility.
• First-time travelers welcome.
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius; no local candidates accepted.
• Maximum RTO of 7 days permitted.
• Former BJC/Saint Luke's employees must wait 18 months with a 3-month break to return as traveler.
• Travel partners not accepted.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cath Lab/EP RN with 2 years of recent specialty experience and required on-call availability including weekends.

Requirements

• Active RN license, Missouri or compact in hand required at time of consideration
• Both Kansas and Missouri licenses, or compact, required due to potential floating needs
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Minimum 2 years of recent specialty experience required, including a full year within the past 12 months with no employment gaps greater than 90 days
• Previous charge nurse experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Extensive cath lab procedural skills required, including diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, cardiac stent placement, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, PCI, TAVR, Watchman procedure, pacemaker insertion, and rotablator atherectomy
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring including right/left heart catheterization and pulmonary artery line/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Proficient in procedural sedation administration and monitoring, along with related medications (antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, vasopressors, thrombolytics, reversal agents)
• Experience with vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose) and sheath removal/monitoring
• Competent in EKG/ECG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and ventilator management
• IV therapy skills including central line assistance, PICC line care, and blood product administration
• EPIC charting experience required

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cath Lab/Interventional Cardiology/Hybrid OR/EP unit of a hospital
• Average daily census of 4 procedures per lab with 16 visits per day
• Patient ratios of 1:4 during days and 1:3 during nights
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• On-call required, including weekends
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Provide direct patient care in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures
• Circulate and scrub for cath lab and EP procedures as neededMonitor patients receiving procedural sedation and manage emergency medications as needed
• Scrubs provided by facility
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius to be eligible; no local candidates accepted
• Maximum RTO of 7 days permitted
• Former BJC/Saint Luke's employees must wait 18 months with a 3-month break in service to return as a traveler, and permanent employees must wait 1 year
• Travel partners are not accepted for this position
