Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab assignment with strong scrubbing skills and RCIS/ARRT/RTR certification. This role requires current MD license, BLS/ACLS, CPI, NRP or AAP, and 2–3 years Cath Lab experience depending on credential.

You will scrub in interventional procedures such as PCI, PTCA, TAVR and pacemaker insertions, with 1:1 patient care, 4x10 hour days, and on-call requirements. Travel, housing allowance and competitive pay are provided.

Qualifications

• Active RN license, MD or Compact.
• Current BLS and ACLS per AHA.
• RCIS / ARRT / RTR certification required.
• CPI certification required.
• NRP or AAP certification required.
• Minimum 2–3 years Cath Lab experience depending on credential.
• Must scrub independently and maintain sterile field.
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital/Level I preferred.
• First-time travelers with strong Cath Lab experience welcomed.
• Experience with PCI/PTCA/TAVR/pacemaker/hemodynamic monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Work in a diagnostic/interventional Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Serve as cath lab scrub tech; not monitoring or circulating duties.
• 1:1 patient ratio during cases.
• Day shift 7:00 AM–5:30 PM; 4x10 hours.
• Every other weekend; holidays required.
• On-call 1 day per week and 1 weekend per month.
• Floating within scope as needed.
• Assist with EKG leads, arrhythmia recognition and hemodynamics.
• Support PCI, PTCA, TAVR, pacemaker and valve procedures.
• Complete onboarding labs within 72 hours of signing; docs due 5 days prior.
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced local traveler rate.

• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted with at least 3 years of strong Cath Lab experience
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including PCI, PTCA, TAVR, pacemaker insertion, and hemodynamic monitoring

• Responsibilities include EKG lead placement, arrhythmia recognition, hemodynamic monitoring, and maintaining a sterile field during procedures
• Supports a range of cardiac catheterization procedures including diagnostic and interventional cases, ASD closures, stent placements, and valve replacements
• Required to complete onboarding labs within 72 hours of signing contract
• Compliance documents due 5 days prior to start date
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced local traveler rate
• Candidates residing under 50 miles from the facility are generally not accepted unless locals are specifically approved
• Former staff must be separated from the health system for at least 12 months before returning as a traveler
• Returning travelers must have at least a 6-month break from the system before returning
• Maximum 7 days RTO can be requested, with additional week required on back end if more than 4 consecutive days are taken
• One major holiday off during winter season may be permitted depending on location and unit
• Extensions typically limited to one contract and one extension before a 6-month break is required before returning to the same facility or unit
