Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Cardiovascular ICU RN for a Magnet-designated teaching hospital in Seattle. 2+ years CVICU experience and prior travel assignment history required.

Responsibilities include 1:1 CVICU care, 4x12 schedules, EPIC charting, and no on-call duties. Licensure in WA or compact state, BLS/ACLS, and travel experience are mandatory. COVID vaccination required.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license; license pending accepted.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Minimum 2 years CVICU experience; open heart experience preferred.
• Prior travel assignment experience required.
• Hands-on ventilator management, IV starts, and PA (Swan-Ganz) lines.
• Experience with Impella, IABP, and LVAD/RVAD devices.
• Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Experience with pacers and post-op cardiac care preferred.
• COVID vaccination and booster required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) of a Magnet-designated teaching hospital.
• Cardio-thoracic ICU patient population with 1:1 patient ratios.
• Day shift (0700-1930) or night shift (1900-0730) 4x12 hour schedules available.
• Weekend work required unless otherwise stated on posted schedule.
• Floating required within the hospital to other ICU units, no floating to sister hospitals.
• EPIC charting system used.
• No on-call requirements.
• Provide critical care nursing to complex cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgical patients.
• Any scrub color accepted; scrubs provided for OR personnel.
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays during assignment.
• RTO limited to 7 days in November/December, spanning no more than 1 holiday.
• RTO cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment.
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this role.
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate as travelers.
• Candidates with prior employment at this health system must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler.
