Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced CVICU RN for a travel assignment at a Level 1 Trauma hospital in Ohio. The unit handles post-cardiac surgery, interventions, and complex hemodynamic monitoring, with Impella and PA line usage common.

Shifts are 7:00–19:30 on a 4x12 schedule, with weekend/holiday coverage required. Travel-ready nurses without local residence considered; navy scrubs required.

Qualifications

• Active OH or compact RN license required (not required in hand at signing).
• Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU staff experience required.
• Level 1 Trauma experience required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Must read and interpret EKG strips and pass an online EKG competency prior to starting.
• Experience with A-lines, vents, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABG draws required.
• Epic charting experience required.
• Skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, ventilator care, dysrhythmia management, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips.
• Experience with IABP, post-cardiac surgery care, cardiac cath/intervention, sheath removal, and TAVR preferred.

Responsibilities

• CVICU unit within a Level 1 Trauma hospital setting.
• 36-bed unit typically running 1:2 patient ratios.
• Manage patients post-cardiac surgery, cardiac cath/intervention, and hemodynamic monitoring cases.
• Utilizes Impella, PA line monitoring, and thermodilution PA cath monitoring.
• Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours from 7:00-19:30, with 36- or 48-hour shift options available.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Floating required at facility discretion within 15 miles to main, south, and north campuses.
• Required to work every other weekend and holiday.
• Facility may cancel up to 2 shifts per contract due to low census.
• Provide direct nursing care to CVICU patients including those on Impella and PA line monitoring.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• First-time travelers will be considered.
• Local candidates outside 50-mile radius not accepted.
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract.
• Travelers are not eligible for facility employee incentives.

• Required to work every other weekend and holiday
• Facility reserves the right to cancel up to 2 shifts per contract due to low census
• Provide direct nursing care to cardiovascular ICU patients including those on Impella and PA line monitoring
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers will be considered
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or non-extended agency employees of the facility must wait 6 months before reapplying as a traveler, pending rehire approval
• Local candidates are not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submittal with no changes after offer
• Travelers are not eligible for facility employee incentives
