Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week CVICU travel assignment in Columbia, SC. You will provide critical care to cardiovascular ICU patients, including post-surgical care, ventilator management, and complex monitoring.

A minimum of 2 years CVICU experience and an SC or compact RN license are required, with BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. The role offers a day shift schedule (7:00 AM–7:30 PM), a 1:2 patient ratio, and potential housing allowances, travel reimbursement,

Qualifications

• Active SC or compact RN license is required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Associate degree in Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Minimum 2 years CVICU experience.
• Epic EMR experience preferred.
• Travel nursing experience required.
• Proficient in IV therapy and line care.
• Ventilator management and ABG interpretation experience.
• Experience with post-cardiac surgery care.
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and renal failure care.

Responsibilities

• 13-week CVICU assignment.
• Day shift 7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 3x12-hour shifts.
• Patient ratio 1:2.
• Every other weekend coverage.
• Floating to other units as needed.
• Provide critical care to CVICU patients.
• Orientation and annual compliance training required.
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of login credentials.
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVICU position requiring 2 years of recent CVICU experience and SC or compact RN licensure.

Requirements

• Active SC or compact RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Associate degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Epic EMR required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central and PICC line care
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory failure care
• Experience with post cardiac surgery care, IABP, CABG, TAVR, and valve repair/replacement
• Experience managing dysrhythmias, cardiac monitoring, and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with CRRT/CVVHD and acute/chronic renal failure care

Responsibilities

• 13-week assignment in the CVICU
• Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating to other qualified units or campuses may be required based on census needs
• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and interventions
• Green scrubs required
• Orientation held every Monday with annual compliance training required
• Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials
• Travelers must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for travel assignments system-wide
• Candidates 90-99.9 miles away may be considered at a reduced bill rate
