Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to join the Cardiovascular ICU team. This role requires a TX or Compact license and prior travel nursing experience to provide advanced critical care to post-cardiac and cardiovascular patients in a hospital setting.

The schedule includes 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with a 1:2 patient ratio and on-site onboarding. Epic charting is used for documentation, and dark gray scrubs are required.

Qualifications

• Active RN license TX State or Compact in hand at time of consideration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience preferred.
• Prior travel nursing experience required.
• Epic charting experience preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred.
• Experience with cardiovascular care and ECMO/IABP preferred.
• Ventilator management and ABG interpretation experience.
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of a hospital setting.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week.
• Epic charting system used.
• Provide advanced critical care to post-cardiac surgery and cardiovascular patients.
• Dark gray scrub color required.
• Must complete onboarding modules onsite during orientation, typically 4-6 hours for RNs.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU position requiring a TX or compact license and prior travel nursing experience.

Requirements

• Active RN license (TX State or Compact) required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
• Experience with cardiovascular care, ECMO, and IABP management preferred
• Proficient in ventilator management and ABG interpretation
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Skilled in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure patients
• Knowledgeable in isolation precautions and PPE protocols

• Candidates residing in Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, or Morris counties are not eligible for consideration
• Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Previous staff must wait one year before returning as a traveler
• All RTO must be submitted in advance; no more than 3 days will be auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
• Travel pairs or groups are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
