Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) travel assignment in North Carolina. Requires prior cardiac critical care and open heart experience, with active NC/Compact license and BLS/ACLS.

Travel experience preferred and candidates must meet all clinical requirements. Responsibilities include 3x12 night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) in CVT, 1:1 to 1:4 patient ratios, and direct care for post-op cardiac patients using Epic charting.

Qualifications

Active RN license (NC or Compact) required.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Minimum 1-2 years of cardiac critical care experience required.
Fresh open heart experience required.
Prior travel nursing experience required.

Responsibilities

Night shift position in the Cardiovascular-Thoracic ICU (CVT).
3x12 hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:4.
Epic charting system used.
Provide direct patient care to cardiac surgery and cardiovascular ICU patients.
Facility unable to accommodate RTO during major holiday weeks.
Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for this travel position.
Former FirstHealth employees must have been separated from employment for at least 1 year to be considered.
Facility conducts its own pre-employment drug screening upon arrival in addition to standard credentialing requirements.

Requirements

Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1-2 years of cardiac critical care experience required
Fresh open heart experience required
Prior travel nursing experience required
Skilled in arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
Skilled in ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and respiratory suctioning
Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
Experience with CABG, post cardiac surgery care, and dysrhythmia management
Experience with sheath removal and pre/post cardiac cath care preferred
Experience with TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and VAD management preferred
Experience with Swan Ganz and FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring preferred
