Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiothoracic ICU travel assignment in North Carolina. The role requires cardiac critical care and fresh open heart surgery experience, plus prior travel nursing background. Extensive CCU skills and OB tools are needed.

The position offers a night shift schedule (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with 1:1 to 1:4 patient ratios and Epic EMR usage. RTO isn’t accommodated during major holiday weeks; housing and travel benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (NC or compact) currently in hand.
• Current certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Minimum 1 year of cardiac critical care experience.
• Fresh open heart surgery experience.
• Prior travel nursing experience.
• Skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, blood product administration, and PICC line management.
• Respiratory/thoracic skills including chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator management, HFNC, ETT/NT suctioning, ABG interpretation.
• Medication management including continuous IV sedation and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips.
• Cardiovascular care including CABG/post-op care, pre/post cardiac cath care, Swan Ganz monitoring, and dysrhythmia interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Cardiovascular-Thoracic ICU (CVT) of a hospital environment.
• Patient ratio of 1:1 to 1:4.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide specialized nursing care to cardiothoracic ICU patients including those recovering from open heart surgery.
• RTO not accommodated during major holiday weeks.
• Candidates residing in Moore County are not eligible for the travel rate.
• Previous employees of the health system must have been separated from employment for at least 1 year to be considered.
• Facility performs its own pre-employment drug screen upon arrival to assignment in addition to standard credentialing requirements.
