American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a Cardiothoracic ICU RN with 2+ years CVICU/CTICU experience for a night shift assignment in Virginia. VA or compact RN license required. The role emphasizes strong cardiac and neuro skills and Epic EMR proficiency.

The position offers a 4x12 night schedule, 48-hour contracts with overtime, and travel-friendly benefits including housing assistance and licensure reimbursement. Candidates must meet all listed requirements and be willing to travel as needed.

Competenze

Active VA or compact RN license required in hand, no exceptions.
BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
Minimum 2 years CVICU/CTICU experience required
Proficiency in Epic required
Skilled in arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
Experience with blood product administration and IV starts
Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation
Strong neuro experience required, including post-brain surgery and EVD/ventriculostomy care
Experience with FloTrac/Vigileo monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
Experience managing multi-system organ failure
Experience with CABG, IABP, and Impella
Experience with post cardiac surgery care (direct from OR and non-direct)
Experience with pre/post cardiac cath or intervention and Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
Experience with IV insulin protocols and CVVHD/CRRT
Experience with CVA/acute stroke management
Experience managing BiPAP, CPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
Experience caring for ventilated patients and interpreting ABGs
Experience with ETT and NT suctioning
Knowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE use
Experience with surgical wounds, drains, and wound vac care
No prior license or background hits permitted

Mansioni

Cardiothoracic ICU setting using a universal bed model, caring for both ICU and step-down patients
Typical patient ratio of 1:1-2
Night shift schedule (4x12 Hours, 19:00-7:30) with 3x12 or 4x12 options available
48-hour contracts available with overtime billed after 48 hours
Every other weekend, floating, and holiday coverage required within the contract
Must work Christmas
Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
Epic EMR experience required
Provide direct patient care in a cardiothoracic ICU, including step-down level patients
Must pass facility EKG/telemetry competency test with a minimum score of 80%, one attempt only with no remediation
3 hours of billable pre-start modules required
Cannot accommodate PAPR; any history of fit test issues will eliminate candidacy
Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Travel experience preferred but not required
First-time travelers may be considered
