Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. is hiring a CVICU RN for a night shift in a Level 1 Trauma CVICU unit in Ohio. You will care for post-surgical and critically ill cardiovascular patients on vents, drips, and tele, with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio.

This travel assignment runs 4x12-hour nights, with 13-week winter contract and holiday rotation. Candidates must hold OH or compact RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and have at least 1 year CVICU experience.

Qualifications

• Active OH or compact RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of dedicated CVICU staff experience.
• Level 1 Trauma experience required.
• Must pass online EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment prior to starting.
• Experience with A-lines, vents, drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABG draws.
• Experience with Impella, post cardiac surgery care, pre/post cardiac cath intervention, and PA line monitoring.
• Experience with thermodilution PA catheter monitoring.
• IV therapy, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care, and PICC line management.
• Experience managing ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation.
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips and managing continuous IV sedation.
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias and cardiac emergency response.
• Experience with IABP, TAVR, and sheath removal preferred.
• Chest tube insertion/removal and IV insulin protocols preferred.
• Travel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Level 1 Trauma CVICU unit with 36 beds.
• Patient ratio of 1:2.
• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30), with 36- or 48-hour shift options available.
• 13-week winter contract requiring work of every other holiday.
• Floating required at facility discretion, including to Main Campus (Dayton), South Campus (Centerville, <10 miles), and North Campus (Englewood, <15 miles).
• Must work every other weekend and holiday.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Provide critical care nursing to cardiovascular ICU patients, including those on tele, drips, and vents.
• Navy blue scrubs required.
• Up to 24 hours of orientation modules are billable.
• Lab work and EKG/Dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing.
• Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submission with no changes after offer.
• First-time travelers will be considered.
• Previous PERM/PRN staff or prior agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying.
• Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted.
• References are not required for consideration.
