American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/IMCU position in a travel-capable setting. Responsibilities include interpreting telemetry strips, titrating cardiac drips, and providing high-acuity post-ICU care in a 28-bed unit.

Shifts are 12 hours (7A-7P) three times weekly, with alternating weekends and holidays. EPIC EMR experience is preferred. Travel readiness and housing support offered.

Qualifications

• Active RN license PA or Compact required.
• Minimum 2 years RN experience required.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Acute care Stepdown/Tele unit experience required.
• Must be competent in reading telemetry strips.
• Experience titrating cardiac drips: Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Work in a 28-bed private room Stepdown/IMCU unit within an acute care hospital.
• Patient population includes heavy cardiac cases, dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from the ICU.
• Nurses serve as central monitor station and must read telemetry strips independently.
• Must titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin.
• Manage patients on Bipap, Cpap and High Flow vent support.
• Uses EPIC EMR (transitioning from Cerner).
• 12-hour day shifts, 7A-7P, 3 shifts per week.
• Must work every other weekend and every other holiday.

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/IMCU position requiring telemetry strip interpretation and critical drip titration skills.

Requirements

• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Acute care Stepdown/Tele unit experience required
• Must be competent in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
• Experience titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Heparin) required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Work in a 28-bed private room Stepdown/IMCU unit within an acute care hospital
• Patient population includes heavy cardiac cases, dysrhythmias, CVAs, and patients downgraded from the ICU
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5, or 1:6 for MedSurg acuity patients
• Nurses serve as the central monitor station for the whole hospital and must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips independently
• Must be able to titrate drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Heparin
• Manages patients on Bipap, Cpap, and High Flow vent support
• Uses EPIC EMR (transitioning from Cerner)
• 12-hour day shifts, 7A-7P, 3 shifts per week
• Must work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) and every other holiday, including Christmas or New Year's
• Potential float assignments to the ICU as helping hands
• In-house hospitalist 24/7 and intensivist support in the ICU
• Provide telemetry and stepdown-level nursing care to cardiac and post-ICU patients
• 2-shift floor-specific orientation with a preceptor provided
• No IV team on-site, though ICU charge nurses or the ICU Director are available for difficult IV access
• In-house respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Navy blue scrub color required (jackets, if worn, must also be navy blue)
• Unit director supports block scheduling and maintains open communication with staff
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered for this travel position
• Former WVU Medicine travelers must have taken a 2-year break before reapplying
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for longer than one year without a 2-year break
