Job summary

Illumina is seeking a Field Service Engineer to provide on-site installation, repair, and maintenance of genomic instruments at customer sites in Atlanta, GA or Birmingham, AL. The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and strong customer relations, with extensive travel and cross-team collaboration.

The position requires a bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience (or an advanced degree), excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience.
2–6 years relevant experience servicing Illumina products.
Willingness to travel up to 75%.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Responsibilities

Install, repair and maintain Illumina platforms and instrumentation.
Troubleshoot complex customer-reported problems.
Monitor and prioritize tasks to maximize instrument uptime and customer satisfaction.
Develop and maintain customer relationships and manage SFDC case workflow.
Lead site meetings and report metrics related to instrument performance and downtime.
