Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Project Manager to oversee planning, management, and execution of data center construction projects. The role ensures profitability, schedules milestones, and maintains quality and safety standards. Candidates should have strong budgeting, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.

The PM will coordinate with estimators, subcontractors, and owners, manage procurement within budget, and ensure compliance with project delivery schedules and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field, or the equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum of four or more years project management experience within Data Center Construction.
• Has a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
• Deep knowledge of commercial construction processes.
• Understands estimating concepts to verify bids and process change orders.
• Familiar with building codes and design requirements.
• Reads and understands plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Professional affiliation or PE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in estimating for the project and prepare budgets.
• Lead the project team in developing the PMP and schedule.
• Participate in value engineering and pre-construction meetings.
• Negotiate subcontracts and obtain permits as needed.
• Prepare project cost reports and monitor procurement within budget.
• Develop and monitor quality, safety, and risk plans.
• Track schedule, milestones, and financial goals with the superintendent.
• Coordinate with Estimating for cost data and ensure project documents are organized.
