Job summary

Layton Construction in Tulsa, OK is seeking a Project Engineer to support Project Managers in ensuring installed work meets plans and specs. You will review drawings, manage schedules, bid support, and coordinate with field teams to keep projects on track.

You will need a civil engineering or construction-related degree, solid communication, and proficiency with Word/Excel. Familiarity with blueprints and OSHA safety requirements is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Willingness to learn OSHA and safety requirements.
• One year of field experience preferred.
• Spanish basics helpful for site directions.

Responsibilities

• Familiarize with project plans and specifications; review shop drawings and submittals.
• Assess plans for value, constructability, and material usage; flag inconsistencies.
• Attend meetings; distribute minutes and publish weekly progress reports.
• Update project schedules; coordinate shop drawings, samples, and materials.
• Assist in bidding and scope development for trade contractors.
• Coordinate testing and inspections for concrete pours and reinforcing.
• Maintain logs of drawings, clarifications, change requests, and RFIs.
• Ensure safety policy compliance and report unsafe activities.
