Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Progressive Care Unit travel nurse (RN PCU) for a 13-week assignment in Washington, DC. The role is travel employment with 36 hours per week, 12-hour rotating shifts. The PCU RN will monitor and care for patients requiring close monitoring but not ICU level care, with potential IV titration and medication administration.

Immediate openings and a tax-free stipend are noted. The PCU RN will perform bedside care, manage dressings, insert catheters, start IVs, and operate

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIH; 2 Years

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions to treatment.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment used on patients, and interpret and record electronic displays.
• Initiate corrective action whenever information from monitoring equipment shows adverse symptomatology.
