Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Stepdown for a travel nursing job in Washington, DC. The PCU/Stepdown RN will care for patients requiring close monitoring, utilizing monitoring equipment, and responding to changes, with emphasis on safety and accuracy.

This 13-week travel assignment offers 36 hours per week, 12-hour night shifts, and requires ACLS/BLS with 1–2 years of acute care experience. Excellent opportunity for professional growth and exposure to cardiac stepdown care.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care; stabilize critical cardiac patients.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting adverse reactions.
• Monitor and interpret patient vital signs and equipment displays.
• Initiate corrective action based on monitoring results.
