Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Roanoke, Virginia. This position requires 13-week assignments, 36 hours per week, with nights shifts on a 12-hour schedule.

The selected RN will care for patients requiring close monitoring but not ICU level care, using cardiac monitors and compatible IV therapy. Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of acute care experience and current BLS/ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent acute care experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Additional certifications may be required before starting

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and stabilize cardiac patients
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs
• Administer and document prescribed medications and monitor for adverse reactions
• Monitor patient conditions using monitoring equipment and respond to changes
• Perform actions to correct adverse patient data as needed
