Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist with 1+ year of experience to perform MRI exams in a Level II Trauma Center setting.

The role requires ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification, WA state MRI license, and BLS certification. Evening shifts 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM with no weekend requirement, and potential to float between outpatient, inpatient, and ED coverage. Epic, GE MRI, and PACS systems are used.

Qualifications

• 1 year MRI technologist experience minimum.
• Experience with contrast media and starting peripheral IVs.
• Proficient in Epic charting in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI exams across abdomen, pelvis, chest, spine, head/neck, and breast imaging.
• Evening shifts 3:00 PM–11:30 PM; no weekend requirement.
• Float between outpatient, inpatient, and ED coverage as needed.
• Work with RNs and support staff; use GE MRI and PACS imaging systems.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with 1+ year of experience to perform a wide variety of MRI exams in a Level II Trauma Center setting.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI Technologist experience required
• BLS certification required
• ARRT-MR or ARMRIT certification required (ARRT-R preferred)
• WA state license specific to MRI required; license required if applicable
• Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
• Community hospital experience required; teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with abdomen, pelvis, chest, spine, and head/neck imaging required
• Experience with contrast media preparation/administration and starting peripheral IVs required
• Experience with neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents preferred
• Experience with pediatric acute care, breast imaging, and various special imaging procedures (CINE, diffusion, MIP, MRP, spectroscopy) preferred
• NICU/PICU and phlebotomy/EKG/biopsy experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Level II Trauma Center including outpatient, inpatient, ED, and IR services
• MRI department performs a wide variety of exams across all patient types
• Evening shift exams include more bread-and-butter scans such as brains, spines, abdomens, and extremities, while day shift includes more specialized studies like Cardiac and Breast MRI
• Patient acuity ranges from ambulatory to total assist requiring RN or staff support, with more total assist patients on evening shift
• 5x8 evening shifts, Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM
• No weekend requirement
• Call is optional, not required
• Required to float between outpatient, inpatient, and ED coverage as needed
• EMR: Epic
• GE MRI equipment and PACS imaging system used
• Perform MRI exams across a wide range of specialties including abdominal, pelvic, chest, spine, head/neck, musculoskeletal, and breast imaging
• Work with patients ranging from ambulatory to total assist, collaborating with RNs and support staff as needed
• May float between sister facilities within the state; refusal to float may impact assignment continuation
• Scrubs of any color accepted except reddish orange
• Parking is facility paid
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted; must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Former Providence employees may return as travelers after a 3-month waiting period, provided they reside outside the 50-mile radius
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including dates and location, during consideration
• Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required
• Expected to commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• RTO requests must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
