Job summary

AeroVironment seeks a dedicated Directed Energy Laser Field Service Representative (FSR) to travel to customer sites, install, maintain and troubleshoot advanced laser systems used in mission-critical applications.

You will work as the primary customer contact, ensuring system readiness, safety, and reliability while building strong relationships with end users and internal teams in high-pressure environments.

Qualifications

• Formal training in a relevant technical field (Engineering, Electronics, IT, or equivalent military training).
• 2-5 years of hands-on field service experience.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and travel frequently.

Responsibilities

• Install and set up laser systems at customer sites and ensure proper operation.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs, update hardware/software/firmware as needed.
• Troubleshoot by analyzing data/logs and coordinate with engineering for complex issues.
• Train customers on operation and maintenance of laser systems.
• Provide primary customer support and document all service activities.
• Collaborate with engineering/support teams to improve system performance.
• Follow safety protocols and manage packaging/handling of spares as needed.
• Travel to varied field locations and work in austere environments.
