Job summary

First Point Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, calibrate, and commission state-of-the-art laser cutting systems at customer sites in the United States. The role involves extensive travel and hands-on work with electro-mechanical systems and laser technology.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, provide on-site and remote technical support, train operators, document service activities, manage parts, and travel up to 75% to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering.
• 3+ years of field service experience in laser/CNC or capital equipment.
• Strong electro-mechanical and CNC knowledge.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% domestically.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, calibrate, and commission new laser cutting machines on customer sites.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers.
• Train end-users and maintenance personnel on safe operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Submit detailed service reports and document parts usage.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships as a trusted advisor.
• Convey field feedback to engineering for product improvement.
• Manage on-hand spare parts and coordinate with logistics.
