Job summary

Heidelberg is seeking a Field Service Technician to travel regionally for on-site setup, installation, and repair of Post Press bindery equipment. You will train customers and provide ongoing support to ensure equipment performs to factory standards.

The role requires strong electrical/mechanical skills, ability to work with riggers, and willingness to travel. A two-year technical degree and prior field-service experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two-year technical degree or equivalent in mechanical, digital, and electronic technology.
• At least two years in field engineering servicing complex electro-mechanical devices at customer locations.
• 5–10 years of field service experience; technical degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical/electrical troubleshooting of Heidelberg Postpress bindery equipment.
• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and train customers on Heidelberg Postpress products.
• Installations with riggers; verify power and air supply; test to factory standards.
• Provide operator and equipment maintenance training for customers.
• Maintain documentation, time sheets, expenses, and training records.
• Update dispatch team on time estimates and status; communicate ETA to customers.
• Travel up to 75% and occasional weekend work.
