Job summary

American Airlines in Tallahassee is seeking a Customer Service Agent to help travelers check in, sell travel, and coordinate with flight operations. You will translate guidelines and assist distressed passengers while promoting the airline's services.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree, strong bilingual skills in some locations, and be prepared for irregular hours, including weekends and holidays. Experience with Sabre is a plus, and the role may require driving air stairs and passing

Qualifications

• High college degree or GED or international equivalent.
• Strong bilingual language skills required in some locations.
• Valid driver’s license as required by local authorities.
• Must pass FAA security background checks to qualify for unescorted access to Airport Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA), if relevant.
• Must be eligible for airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening, comprehensive background check and/or fingerprinting to meet company and safety requirements.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Promotes and sells air travel to the traveling public or freight forwarders.
• Presents help with passenger check-in and load acceptance.
• Translates government guidelines and requirements for domestic and international travel or cargo shipments.
• Ensures flights are dispatched within scheduled times.
• Provides assistance to distressed passengers.
• Protects agency property and sales.
• May be required to drive and operate air stairs up to diverse aircraft to enable boarding and deboarding passengers.
• Due to flight operations, this role requires irregular or extended hours, weekends and holidays.
