Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a CT Technologist for a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center in Winston-Salem. The role requires 1+ year CT experience and ARRT-CT certification, with an active license if applicable.

The position involves adult and pediatric inpatient/outpatient imaging, arterial/contrast studies, and collaboration with EPIC EMR and PACS. 4x10 hour day shifts, weekend coverage, and travel-ready candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• 1+ year CT experience with recent work within the last year.
• ARRT-CT certification and BLS.
• Active license if applicable.
• Experience with IV contrast administration and power ports/PICCs.
• Proficient with EPIC EMR and PACS.

Responsibilities

• Support a Level 1 Trauma center CT service 24/7.
• Perform CT scans for adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients.
• Utilize EPIC EMR and Intellispace PACS for imaging workflow.
• Work across Main Reynold's Tower and Cancer Center; 4x10 hour shifts.
• Weekend call rotation and occasional holiday coverage.
• Orientation and onboarding per department policy.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level 1 Trauma academic medical center requiring 1+ year of CT experience and ARRT-CT certification.

Requirements

• BLS and ARRT-CT certification required
• Active license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of CT experience required, with most recent experience within the last year
• Skilled in IV starts, sliding/ceiling lift use, code stroke response, arterial and routine scans, and handling drains, lines, and tubing
• Experience administering contrast material through peripheral IVs and power ports/PICCs
• Experience with adult and pediatric inpatient, outpatient, ICU, and trauma patients
• Knowledge of radiation safety practices
• Cardiac, procedure, and Siemen's Alpha Photon Counting experience preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
• Minimum 1 professional reference dated within the last year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN

Responsibilities

• Level 1 Trauma Designation academic teaching hospital with Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
• CT Scan department serving Main Tower (24/7, 80-110 patients/day) and Cancer Center (60-80 patients/day)
• Adult and pediatric inpatient and outpatient population including cardiac, stroke, aneurysm, bowel ischemia, pancreatitis, transplant, cirrhosis, kidney, metastatic evaluation, cancer, traumatic brain injury, heart disease, fractures, pneumonia, thrombus, lymphoma, tumors, bleeds, and peripheral vascular disease
• Uses EPIC EMR and Intellispace PACS
• Equipment includes Siemen's Flash, Siemen's Force, GE Apex Revolution, GE Lightspeed, GE Discovery, and Siemen's Alpha Photon Counting (preferred)
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• One weekend call rotation per assignment, covering 7a-7p Saturday and Sunday
• At least 1 holiday coverage preferred during the assignment
• Floating required to Main Reynold's Tower and Cancer Center
• Work in a fast-paced environment with heavy inpatient and outpatient volume
• Responsibilities include running the front desk, facilitating workflow, coordinating patient transport, and answering phones
• Support provided by a CT Supervisor, with independent work expected during 3rd shift
• Orientation includes New Employee Orientation, 2 days of departmental orientation, and first 2 weeks of training on required scanners
• Clinical interview with the manager required prior to placement
• Black scrubs required
• Free employee parking provided
• First-time travelers accepted if they have CT experience
• Candidates must live outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Returning employees must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year after working a permanent position
