Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a Level III trauma center in CT with 252 beds. You will work a night shift (4x10s) across two locations, requiring dual-state licensure and proficiency in GE/Siemens CT workups, including abdomen/pelvis, head/neck, spine, and chest imaging.

The role demands ARRT CT and ARRT R certifications, BLS, and contrast administration experience, with travel requirements and PPE adherence. Training and travel support provided.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1.5–2 years of hospital CT experience
  • ARRT CT and ARRT R certifications required
  • BLS certification required
  • CT and RI state licenses required (license required if applicable)
  • Experience with GE and Siemens CT equipment required
  • Skilled in image display and post-processing techniques
  • Experience with abdomen and pelvis CT studies with and without contrast
  • Experience with head and neck CT imaging including trauma head studies
  • Experience with spine and musculoskeletal CT imaging including trauma cases
  • Experience with chest CT studies with and without contrast
  • Preferred experience in teaching hospital and community hospital settings
  • Preferred Level I and Level II trauma center experience
  • Experience preparing and administering contrast media
  • 1 professional reference required for consideration

Responsibilities

  • Short term acute care Level III trauma center with 252 staffed beds, part of Yale New Haven Health System
  • Night shift, 4x10 hours from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM
  • Call and weekend coverage required as needed by department
  • Uses GE Optima CT660 scanner
  • EPIC charting system
  • Required to float between two hospital locations across CT and RI, requiring licensure in both states
  • Free parking available
  • Perform CT imaging across abdomen/pelvis, head/neck, spine/musculoskeletal, and chest specialties
  • Special procedures may include aspirations, biopsies, coronary CTA, CT arthrography, drainage, and vascular CTA
  • Adheres to isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
  • Returning staff must have a 2-year gap in employment to be considered as a traveler
  • Up to 7 days of RTO may be auto-approved
  • Local candidates not accepted within 75 miles of the hospital site
