Job summary

FiberTel is seeking CDL Laborers for our Sacramento, CA location. The travel position covers Sacramento, Vallejo, and Santa Rosa, supporting all phases of utility construction for telecom projects.

Responsibilities include digging, cabling, and operating around heavy equipment under Foreman/Supervisor guidance. Qualifications include Class A CDL, pre-employment drug screen, background check, and valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Class A CDL required.
• Possess a valid driver’s license or be eligible to obtain one.
• A good driving record is required.
• Basic knowledge of and ability to operate utility trucks and equipment safely.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
• Willing to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• All phases of telecommunication construction include loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of construction materials and equipment.
• Hand dig using shovel and mechanical tools.
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling.
• Operate or work around heavy equipment and machinery.
• Work in congested or remote areas.
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations, procedures, and policies.
• Learn all aspects of the crew and assist the operator and foreman as assigned.
• Setup, preparation, and cleanup of construction sites.
• Develop an understanding of buried utilities.
• Lift heavy equipment and supplies.
