Job summary

Hawthorne Health is expanding its Home Network by engaging dual-credentialed Cardiac and Vascular Sonographers to work as per diem independent contractors. You will travel regionally to patient homes to perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging per protocol, with imaging quality and timely reporting emphasized.

Travel expenses including mileage, airfare, hotel, and per-visit pay are reimbursed; you must maintain ASE-compliant standards and communicate clearly with participants.

Qualifications

• Active registration in cardiac and vascular imaging (RDCS/RCS + RVT/RVS through ARDMS/CCI).
• BLS certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel regionally.
• Access to a personal computer and reliable internet; tech savvy with digital tools.
• Ability to work independently in non-traditional settings.
• Excellent patient communication and bedside manner.
• Adaptability in field-based environments.
• Time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel locally or across state lines to patient homes to conduct visits; volume varies by region.
• Transport and set up portable ultrasound equipment.
• Explain procedures and obtain informed cooperation from participant.
• Perform echocardiograms and vascular imaging studies per protocol.
• Monitor patient comfort and safety during imaging.
• Follow sponsor and protocol-specific imaging guidelines.
• Ensure accurate image acquisition and proper labeling for cardiology review.
• Complete preliminary report with measurements and sonographer comments.
• Maintain high-quality standards consistent with ASE Standards.
• Perform basic troubleshooting of imaging equipment.
