Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking an Outreach and Education Specialist to conduct community outreach and educate organizations likely to encounter trafficking victims. You will support Resource Specialists, engage at-risk groups, and help connect survivors to services through street outreach and partnerships.

The role requires a AA/BA with 3 years in a related field, lived trafficking experience, and strong bilingual communication. Flexible hours and fieldwork across NJ are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or High School Diploma with 3 years of relevant work experience.
• Lived experience of human trafficking required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Excellent presentation and public speaking skills.
• Flexibility for events and outreach outside regular hours.
• Work in environments where participants may be living.
• Basic computer literacy; Salesforce and ETO knowledge preferred.
• Valid NJ driver’s license with insurable driving record.
• Own transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in outreach meetings with local task forces and coalitions.
• Take leadership roles in relevant task forces and coalitions.
• Identify and participate in task forces within communities.
• Inform external community about CHNJ programs and services.
• Make public and agency presentations and attend meetings as needed.
• Organize community contacts to reach more victims.
• Educate individuals at-risk about rights and CHNJ offerings.
• Refer potential victims to Resource Specialists and others.
• Collaborate with Street Outreach Teams and external events.
• Maintain documentation in Salesforce; input partner contacts.
