Job summary

Community Partners in Action, Inc. seeks a Youth Mentor for the REGIONS Site Secure Residential Treatment Program for male youth in Hamden, CT.

The role involves supervising youth, supporting daily activities, and maintaining a safe, trauma‑informed environment. The position requires an associate degree or higher (bachelor's in criminal justice preferred), strong communication, crisis management, and willingness to work in a secure setting.

Qualifications

• Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with at-risk or court-involved youth preferred.
• Willingness to work in a secure residential environment.
• Bi-lingual ability (Spanish/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and care for youth, assisting with daily activities.
• Maintain a safe, trauma-informed, culturally responsive environment.
• Mediate youth problems using relational, strengths-based practices.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques and participate in mandated trainings.
• Complete logs, forms, and discharge planning with the team.
