Job summary

Hanna Center in California is seeking a Mental Health Specialist & Program Manager to support the Mental Health & Wellness Day Treatment Rehabilitation Program. The role combines group and individual work, documentation, and collaboration with families, schools, and community partners.

Qualifications

• Experience working with youth and families in behavioral health settings.
• Ability to facilitate structured groups and engage participants with diverse needs.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed care, recovery and resiliency principles.
• Ability to recognize safety concerns and manage behavioral escalation.
• Strong verbal and written communication; proficient documentation.
• Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team with clinical direction.
• Consistent availability Monday through Friday during program hours 3:00–7:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate structured, developmentally appropriate rehabilitation groups focused on coping, emotional regulation, communication, social skills, problem-solving, daily functioning, and community success.
• Lead program development, implementation and compliance including updating procedures, forms, and monitoring data and outcomes.
• Provide individual skills coaching and behavioral support aligned with each participant’s plan of care.
• Maintain a trauma-responsive, safe therapeutic milieu during the program.
• Follow safety, confidentiality, mandated reporting, and emergency procedures.
• Complete timely documentation in an electronic health record system per requirements.
• Collaborate with clinicians, families, schools, and partners to support coordinated care.
• Participate in intake, orientation activities, case consultations, reviews, and discharge planning.
• Prepare group curricula and spaces; track attendance and follow-up needs.
• Perform other duties aligned with the role and program needs.
