Qualifications

  • BA in a social science discipline preferred; experience with children required.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong skills in de-escalating conflicts among staff, families, and residents.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed practices, including community and intergenerational trauma, parallel processes, and universal precautions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure licensing compliance and best practices in trauma-informed standards.
  • Provide regular updates on climate and resident atmosphere to leadership.
  • De-escalate crisis situations and apply crisis intervention skills.
  • Write and submit Unusual Incident Reports (UIRs).
  • Assist with Medication Audits.
  • Drive residents as needed.
  • Adapt schedules to cover vacancies in all residential programs.
  • Communicate with Youth Counselors and Hanna Center staff as needed.
  • Liaise with CPS, the local sheriff's department, or the Sonoma County MST.
  • Understand and implement mandated reporting requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
