Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey is seeking a Youth Engagement Support Staff (YESS) to engage and support young people using strength-based, trauma-informed approaches. The role involves coordinating activities, crisis de-escalation, and documenting progress in HMIS/ETO within a multi-disciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work nights/weekends, and support youths aged 18-24 in securing education, employment, and wellness goals while adhering to program

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in relevant fields.
• Experience with homeless youth 18-24 or related populations preferred.
• Must have a valid NJ driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide unconditional positive regard to youth in care.
• Support Case Management to foster positive relationships and progress on goals.
• Assist with daily activities, transport, and engagement activities.
• Document intake, progress notes and relevant logs in HMIS/ETO.
