Job summary

Covenant House New Jersey seeks an YESS staff member to provide supportive, trauma-informed care to young people. The role emphasizes strength-based, harm-reduction practices and multi-disciplinary teamwork to maintain a safe, inclusive environment.

The YESS will engage youth in activities, document progress in HMIS/ETOs and coordinate care plans to help youth set and achieve goals. The position is on-call with an hourly rate of $20.00, requiring availability for a 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM shift in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of adolescent development and ability to build positive rapport with young people.
• Excellent communication skills as demonstrated by concise, timely and professional correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Provide unconditional positive regard to young people and support case management services.
• Welcome youth to the program and explain structure, opportunities, and resources.
• Build supportive relationships and connect youth to opportunities and resources.
• Support youth in progressing toward self-identified goals and plan/execute tasks.
• Engage youth in daily activities, documentation, and program assignments.
• Assist with transportation, housekeeping, and logistics for youth, including trips and events.
