Zusammenfassung

KEYS Academy, supported by Health Connect America, seeks a dedicated Special Education teacher to lead a trauma-informed classroom for students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs across Virginia. You will design and deliver individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals, integrating the KEYS for a Big Life Curriculum and Social Thinking framework.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
• Active Virginia teaching license in Special Education required (license eligible candidates accepted).
• Endorsement in Emotional Disabilities (ED), Special Education General Curriculum K–12, or related SPED endorsement required. (Endorsement in Elementary/Secondary Education accepted if pursuing SPED endorsement).
• Must maintain licensure and required certifications throughout employment.

• Develop and deliver lesson plans aligned to SOLs, curriculum, and IEP goals.
• Differentiate instruction for varied needs including behavioral and sensory.
• Embed communication and social-emotional instruction into daily lessons.
• Use online platforms and reading/writing interventions to support learning.
• Maintain a structured classroom schedule and collaborate with support staff.
• Establish and maintain a safe, dignified learning environment.
• Monitor progress, collect data, and adjust instruction to meet goals.
• Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with families and LEA.
